Regardless of your identities, orientation or the way you express yourself, remember that sexual assault and/or relationship violence are never your fault. This includes when the incident involves any of the following:
The person who hurt you was an acquaintance, date, friend or partner
You have been sexually intimate with that person or with others before
You were drinking or using drugs
You froze and did not or could not say “no,” or were unable to leave or fight back physically |
Sexual assault and relationship violence (SRV) can impact our lives in a variety of ways. SRV involves a complexity of experiences and feelings, sometimes including the threat of death or injury. There are a number of ways individuals react to this trauma.
