The Date is a sexual violence prevention program offered every year for incoming students.

The program is an important part of promoting a safer community on campus. Written, performed and directed by WashU students, the live performance has been part of new student orientation since 2001, and this endeavor is our largest prevention education program.

Following each performance, students participate in small group discussions led by upper class student volunteers who go through training to facilitate the discussions. The discussions include conversations about sex and consent, bystander intervention and ongoing communication.
